Hepatitis C Networked Care: To improve treatment penetration in at-risk populations (Tootgarook)

Join Dr Robert Weiss and specialists from the FMP Hepatitis C Network in this initiative to improve treatment penetration in at-risk populations in the FMP area. 

Attend the education activity on Tuesday 17 July or Tuesday 31 July for presentations and case studies on the investigation and treatment of Hep C and learn about Nellie, a free web-based tool for SMS messaging to support patients with their treatment.

If you are interested in using Nellie to support the treatment of Hep C in your practice, you can participate in an ALM (accredited for 40 cat 1 points with the RACGP) where you will:

  • Develop regional Nellie protocols for the treatment of Hep C
  • Be supported by SEMPHN to set-up and use Nellie
  • Be part of a regional network of service providers improving treatment penetration in at-risk populations in the FMP area.

Tuesday 17 July 2018. Registration:6:30pm. Commence: 6.50pm-9:30pm.  Please note: This session is also being delivered in Frankston on Tuesday 31 July. To register for the Frankston session, please click here.  


Learning Outcomes

For category 2 activity:

  • Outline the national impact of Hepatitis Con the public health of communities
  • Understand guidelines for screening, diagnosing and assessing treatment options for patients with Hep C
  • Discuss transmission, testing and management of Hep C


For category 1 activity - as above plus:

  • Develop regional Nellie protocols for the treatment of Hep C
  • Use Nellie to support treatment and monitoring of patients with Hep C


Accreditation

Accredited with the RACGP QI&CPD program for the 2017-19 triennium: 

  • 4 Category 2 points for attending the session on 17 July & 31 July or
  • 40 Category 1 points for participating in the ALM which includes the implementation of Nellie into your practice.


Cost

The training is provided at no cost. Dinner will be provided.
