Foundations of Culturally Competent Practice


Event Overview

This 3-hour workshop is delivered by the Centre for Culture, Ethnicity & Health (CEH) and introduces participants to key concepts of migration, diversity and cultural competence.

By exploring your own culture and values through fun activities, participants reflect on how these can effect workplace interactions.

Finally participants discuss strategies and tools for effective cross-cultural communication.

Learning Outcomes

  • Explore personal cultural understandings
  • Recognise the impact of culture on service provision
  • Analyse successful strategies for working with people from refugee and migrant backgrounds

 

 

Cost

Free but registration is essential.

Morning tea will be provided.
