Job Description
As a Physiotherapist, you will help patients with chronic disease management, provide lifestyle modification and self-management advice, prescribe aids and appliances, prescribe and supervise exercises for both patients and carers, and provide health promotion education, occupational health assessments and injury prevention activities.<br><br>**Responsibilities**<br>• Provide physiotherapy assessment, diagnosis and treatment services for movement issues.<br>• Injury treatment and management<br>• Manual therapy, such as massage, dry needling and joint manipulation.<br>• Taping and splinting<br>• Provide education to clients within a self-management framework.<br>• Refer to other services as required<br>• Plan, implement and evaluate Physiotherapy related programs. Health promotion sessions/program in collaboration with the diabetes educator.<br>• Educating patients, family members and community on how to prevent injuries and live a healthy lifestyle.<br>• Maintain electronic health records, documentation and statistics according to First Peoples’ Health and Wellbeing policy.<br>• Provide secondary consultation to other members of the team and to external agencies, where relevant to client care and Physiotherapy practice.<br>• Clear and concise documentation using Best Practice software system<br>• Continuous Quality Improvement - Identify continuous quality improvement opportunities and act upon when/where relevant.<br>
Essential selection criteria
• Current AHPRA registration<br>• High level of computer skills and experience in Medicare billing<br>• Demonstrated patient-focused approach in service provision with genuine empathy and interest in their needs.<br>• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills across all ages and social groups.<br>• Maintain absolute confidentiality regarding patient and practice information.<br>
Desirable selection criteria
• Qualification in Pelvic Floor Physiotherapy or Women's Health or Paediatrics<br>• Qualification in Clinical Pilates<br>• Experience working with and understanding of Victorian Aboriginal communities.<br>
