The First Peoples’ Healing Program offers a flexible and holistic approach to alcohol and other drug treatment for First Nations people and their family. It is a wraparound service with a cultural lens that acknowledges each person’s emotional wellbeing, their own personal journey, and connection to self, Mob and Country.

The program, delivered by Windana in Frankston  and Mornington Peninsula (areas of Bunurong/ Boonwurrung), supports people aged 16 to 55 who identify as Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander.

The program focuses on:

  • Culture
  • Aboriginal healing practices
  • Trauma-informed treatment (with a focus on intergenerational trauma)
  • Family-centred therapeutic practices
  • Protective factors and support
  • Social, and cultural determinants of health.
