Job Description

<br>Responsibilities include: <br>Greet patient on arrival and on phone<br>Verify and update personal and Medicare details.<br>Manage patient registration, transfer of records, my medicare enrolment and new patient forms.<br>Book, reschedule, and cancel appointments using Best Practice software<br>Manage recalls, reminders, and follow-up appointments.<br>Answer incoming calls and direct them appropriately.<br>Provide information regarding clinic services, billing, and practitioner availability.<br>Handle general patient inquiries and concerns.<br>Process payments (EFTPOS, Medicare rebates via tyro or online claiming<br>Manage private, bulk billing, workcover , TAC and DVA claims.<br>Issue invoices and receipts.<br>Maintain accurate patient records and confidentiality <br>File test results and correspondence.<br>Prepare documents for scanning or mailing.<br>Send referrals, reports, and documents to specialists, hospitals, and allied health professionals.<br>Chase results with pathology and imaging providers.<br>Monitor waiting area and ensure it is clean and organised.<br>Manage incoming and outgoing mail, emails, and faxes.<br>Order office and medical supplies as required<br>Comply with infection control procedures.<br>Uphold patient confidentiality and data security.<br>Assist with accreditation processes <br>Support doctors, nurses, and other staff as needed.<br>Attend staff meetings and training sessions.<br>

Essential selection criteria

- Minimum 1 year of experience in medical administration (required).<br>- Background in medical practice admin and customer service.<br>- Strong computer skills.<br>- Proven ability to manage, prioritise, and handle multiple tasks.<br>- Outstanding communication and interpersonal abilities.<br>- Willingness to work flexibly to align with the Practice’s operating hours.<br><br>

Desirable selection criteria

Experience using Best Practice medical software would be beneficial.<br>
