Enhanced specialised care for endometriosis and pelvic pain

January 5, 2026

South Eastern Melbourne Primary Health Network (SEMPHN) is pleased to announce a new Endometriosis and Pelvic Pain Clinic (EPPC) will be established in south east Melbourne.

Dandenong Superclinic will deliver the EPPC, providing specialist health services for women and girls in the region.

The new clinic is one of 11 EPPCs the Australian Department of Health, Disability and Ageing has announced across Australia, expanding access to specialised care for women and girls living in the regions and outer suburbs. While the clinic is located in Greater Dandenong, it will accept patients from other areas.

Endometriosis affects at least 1 in 7 Australian women, often causing chronic pain and fertility issues. Pelvic pain is similarly complex and debilitating, with broader social and economic impacts.

The new clinic will enhance specialised care for women and girls in south east Melbourne by providing:

  • access to additional in-clinic specialist health services
  • patient-centred care through a collaborative multidisciplinary approach including gynaecologists, physiotherapists, dietitians, and endocrinologists
  • streamlined referral pathways to specialist care
  • enhanced workforce capacity and expertise in women’s health
  • consumer education resources and self-management tools (for example, digital platforms and peer support networks).

The clinic is funded until 30 June 2028.
