New pregnancy care resources now available

October 15, 2025

The Australian Government releases a new set of resources to support and empower women to make informed choices and decisions throughout their pregnancy.

Every pregnancy is different, and there are different types of pregnancy care available for women and their babies.

To help explain the care women should receive during pregnancy, the Australian Government has developed a new set of resources designed to support and empower women to make informed choices and decisions throughout their pregnancy.

These resources include clear, easy-to-understand information, helpful checklists and suggested questions to ask their healthcare provider(s).

They are based on the Australian Pregnancy Care Guidelines–evidence-based, best practice guidelines that are regularly updated to reflect the latest evidence in pregnancy care.

Women can use these resources to discuss their own pregnancy care with the healthcare provider(s) and work together to decide what’s best.

Resources include:

  • Fact sheets
  • Types of Pregnancy Care
  • Pregnancy Timeline
  • Health Tests During Your Pregnancy
  • Common Conditions During Pregnancy
  • Brochures
  • Overview of pregnancy resources
  • Posters
  • Promoting pregnancy resources

The resources are available on the Department of Health, Disability and Ageing's website.
