GPs can now become Credentialed Eating Disorder Clinicians

With support from the Department of Health and Aged Care, the Australia & New Zealand Academy for Eating Disorders (ANZAED) is proudly expanding the ANZAED Eating Disorder Credential to GPs to enhance the effectiveness and consistency of care for eating disorders in Australia.

The Credential for GPs emphasises early identification and initial response for people with eating disorders, encompassing screening, assessment, diagnosis, and referral to appropriate treatment providers. Importantly, it connects help-seekers with Credentialed Eating Disorder Clinicians through a searchable directory on the connect·ed website.

Once credentialed, GPs will receive public recognition for their knowledge and commitment to providing eating disorder care via a post-nominal, certificate, digital badge and profile listing on the searchable directory. Credentialed GPs will also have access to webinars for ongoing professional development and an online moderated forum to connect with other GPs working in this space.

Applications for the Credential for GPs are free until 30 June 2024.
