Interventional Radiology is a growing field in medicine. This clinic is designed for patients who require specialised interventional procedures using imaging technology.

Patients will see a specialist radiologist who will discuss the procedure in detail. This also provides the opportunity for a thorough medical assessment, to ensure the patient receives the appropriate work-up before the procedure, such as blood tests or other imaging.

If the procedure is to be performed under a general anaesthetic the patient may be required to attend a pre – anaesthetic assessment clinic which the doctor will refer them to.

The patient may also meet our Interventional Radiology Nursing Coordinator who will be coordinating your procedure.

- Venous stenting and thrombosis treatment including May-Thurner syndrome
- Diagnostic cerebral angiography
- Intervention of cerebral aneurysms and arterio-venous fistulae (AVFs)
- Corticosteroid (cortisone) injections to the joints and spine for pain management
- Intervention for management of complex pain including neurolysis
