First Bulk Billing Practice Incentive Program payments now processed

The first quarterly Bulk Billing Practice Incentive Program (BBPIP) payments have been processed by Services Australia. Practices and providers registered for BBPIP and who have met all eligibility criteria should now have received their initial payment.

Practices and providers can check their payment details through Services Australia’s Health Professional Online Services (HPOS) and will also receive a payment notice in their HPOS email inbox.

If registered practices and providers did not receive a payment, they should check if they have met BBPIP program requirements.

Steps to investigate missing payments:

  • Check eligibility: Confirm that the practice is registered for both MyMedicare and BBPIP (See Services Australia BBPIP eLearning module, slide 3)
  • Verify bank details: Ensure the practice has entered its bank account details in the Organisation Register in HPOS (instructions for updating bank details for MyMedicare)
  • Check provider bank details: Individual GPs must add their bank details to PRODA for BBPIP payments to receive payments. If any provider bank details are missing, you can identify those providers using the ‘providers’ tab See Services Australia BBPIP eLearning module, slide 8). Each doctor must log in to PRODA as an individual to update their bank account details for BBPIP. If a GP delivers services across multiple locations, they must nominate bank details at each BBPIP participating practice location. Please refer to Services Australia resource Adding provider bank account details for BBPIP for step-by-step instructions for providers.
  • Check accreditation: Ensure your practice's accreditation is current.
  • Review HPOS notifications: Check the HPOS inbox for notifications regarding payment issues.
  • Check your BBPIP Registration Date is correct - Check the ‘Days counted for payment’ (See Services Australia BBPIP eLearning module, see slide 8). Practices may backdate BBPIP registration (to as early as 1 November 2025), so long as they were bulk billing all eligible services from this date.
