Refugee support for people affected by the crisis in the Middle East

December 21, 2023

Due to current global events, there may be an increase in the number of Afghan, Palestinian and Israeli refugees arriving in Australia.

SEMPHN is helping provide connections to primary health care for these individuals.

If you have non-Medicare refugee patients without health insurance, please refer them to Monash Health Refugee Health and Wellbeing. Monash Health provides a range of no-cost services for refugee and asylum seekers in our catchment. The website is a great source of information for health professionals.

PPCCs provide care for people with conditions that require urgent attention but not an emergency response. They support nearby hospital emergency departments by providing same-day GP appointments for non-life-threatening injuries or illnesses such as mild infections, fractures and burns.
