Job Description

6-Month Fixed Term Position, with possibility to extend subject to funding <br>Part Time - 0.1 EFT (one day a fortnight) <br> <br>The Gynaecologist will provide specialised clinical services in the Women’s Health Clinic, with a strong emphasis on cultural safety and community engagement. This role involves collaboration with a multidisciplinary team to ensure the delivery of comprehensive and respectful care to Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander women. <br>

Essential selection criteria

- Specialist registration with AHPRA in Obstetrics and Gynaecology (FRANZCOG or equivalent). <br>- Experience providing gynaecological services, preferably in a community or primary care setting. <br>- Demonstrated understanding of and commitment to the principles of Aboriginal Community Controlled Health Services. <br>- Cultural competency and a respectful approach to working with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples. <br>- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, including the ability to work collaboratively in a multidisciplinary team. <br><br>

Desirable selection criteria

- Experience working with and understanding of Victorian Aboriginal communities. <br>- Experience with telehealth and outreach services. <br>- Knowledge of Medicare and billing processes in a community health context. <br>- Connections with local public hospitals if secondary consults are required. <br><br>

First People's Health and Wellbeing is an Aboriginal Community Controlled Health Organisation and home to Victoria's dedicated Aboriginal Women's Health Clinic. We are committed to providing culturally safe healthcare and creating opportunities for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander women to connect, prioritise their wellbeing, and feel supported in every aspect of their health. We have a multi-disciplinary team onsite, and a beautiful new clinic that is well equipped for women's health care, including IUD insertions.
