SEMPHN achieves national certification for Medicare Mental Health Phone Program

April 15, 2026

South Eastern Melbourne Primary Health Network (SEMPHN) has achieved National Safety and Quality Digital Mental Health (NSQDMH) accreditation for the Medicare Mental Health Phone Program, demonstrating our commitment to safe, high-quality care for service users.

NSQDMH is the nationally recognised standard for digital mental health services. Certification follows a comprehensive independent audit of the Medicare Mental Health Phone Program’s systems, processes, controls and workforce.

The achievement demonstrates that SEMPHN’s Medicare Mental Health Phone Program meets national best practice standards for delivering high-quality digital mental health services.

The Medicare Mental Health Program is a free and confidential phone service that supports consumers and carers seeking individual support or guidance to appropriate services, as well as health professionals seeking advice and referral pathways to local mental health services.

SEMPHN's service delivery, in partnership with commissioned service providers, has resulted in positive outcomes for service users, including reduced waiting times and streamlined referral processes. Feedback from service users indicates that they feel heard, supported and listened to.

We remain committed to a culture of continuous improvement and delivering high-quality, safe and responsive services for our service users.
