Commonwealth Psychosocial Support program extended and expanded across south east Melbourne

July 16, 2025

The Commonwealth Psychosocial Support (CPS) program has been extended until 30 June 2027, ensuring continued access to vital community-based mental health support across south east Melbourne.

From 1 July 2025, Ermha365 and Mentis Assist, in partnership with Kindred Clubhouse, will deliver CPS services across all 10 Local Government Areas (LGAs) in the South Eastern Melbourne catchment.

The CPS program is a short-term, non-clinical service focused on providing practical help and strategies for daily living. The program focuses on helping individuals to manage daily tasks, undertake work or study, find housing, get involved in activities, and make connections with family and friends.

The program is specifically designed for people who are:

  • Living with a severe mental illness
  • Not receiving NDIS or state funded mental health community support services.

Since 2019, First Step has provided valuable support to the CPS program. Their role in the program will conclude on 30 June 2025, and we thank them for their contributions to mental health support in our region.

Referrals can be made via our Access and Referral team by phone on 1800 862 363 or through an online referral form.
