Looking for Monkeypox resources?

August 23, 2022

Take a look at SEMPHN's Monkeypox resources page.

We have put together some information for health professionals who are looking for more information and resources on Monkeypox.

Since May 2022, there has been a global increase in Monkeypox (MPX) infections in multiple countries where the illness is not usually seen, including Australia. MPX may be spread from person-to-person through skin-to-skin contact, contact with contaminated surfaces or items, and respiratory droplets. Local transmission is occurring in Australia and anyone developing symptoms that may be consistent with MPX should seek medical care.

Our Monkeypox page covers topics such as:

  • Prevention
  • Infection prevention and control
  • Vaccines
  • Signs and symptoms
  • Testing
  • Treatment
