Now recruiting for Doctors in Secondary Schools: Hampton Park Secondary College

June 23, 2026

South Eastern Melbourne PHN is seeking a general practice to partner in delivering the Doctors in Secondary Schools program at Hampton Park Secondary School College.

Doctors in Secondary Schools (DiSS) provides youth-friendly primary healthcare onsite at Victorian government secondary schools. Through the program, a GP and practice nurse provide consultations in a purpose-built school clinic, helping students access care early, safely and without out-of-pocket costs.

The opportunity is available from Term 3 2026, or as soon as possible.

Help students access care

This is a rewarding opportunity for a local general practice to support the health and wellbeing of young people in the Hampton Park community.

Participating practices help students access primary health care in a familiar school setting, supporting early intervention, preventative care and community-based healthcare.

Why get involved?

Doctors in Secondary Schools offer benefits for both clinicians and practices.

For GPs and practice nurses, the program provides an opportunity to:

  • Work in a different setting during the school term
  • Make a meaningful difference to young people, families and schools
  • Build experience in adolescent health, mental health, preventative care and early intervention
  • Support students who may otherwise face barriers to accessing healthcare.

For practices, the program can help:

  • Strengthen your practice’s role in the local community
  • Build trust relationships with your people, families and schools
  • Support early intervention and preventative health
  • Provide staff with professional development and a varied clinic experience.
