Paid Opportunity for GPs: MATOD Clinical Placement Program

January 15, 2025

Changes in our catchment have further reduced the number of clinicians who offer Medication-Assisted Treatment of Opioid Dependence (MATOD), making it even more challenging for patients to find a MATOD prescriber.

To assist our community, we’re offering GPs in Victoria a paid opportunity to join a Medication-Assisted Treatment of Opioid Dependence (MATOD) Clinical Placement Program,  supporting patients who live with Opioid Use Disorder.

Benefits of the program include:

  • Flexibility to choose your level of engagement: Observe an experienced MATOD prescriber (4 clinics, across 4 weeks) then, gain hands-on experience as a locum at the same MATOD clinic (8 clinics, across 8 weeks)
  • Mentoring from experienced prescribers
  • Remuneration up to $9760 (contact Adrian.May@semphn.org.au for more information)
  • Make a big impact at a crucial time.

Not accredited but interested?

If you are interested in this opportunity, but have not yet attained MATOD accreditation, please get in touch with our team. We can provide guidance on obtaining accreditation and completing the training: adrian.may@semphn.org.au.
